POLITICAL ORGANIZATION
Chavin culture seems to lack influence from a central governing group and/or military group, and although not much is known about the governing system in Chavin history, it is almost certain that the high class consisted of priests who were sometimes seen as divine, administrators, and wealthy traders that were made rulers in the community. The large building projects must have required lots of labor and control, so it is likely that villages on the outskirts of the religious center would feel obliged to go help with public works that were overseen by priests.
